The 4C's of a diamond

Shape
Each shape will be cut differently. Before a diamond is cut, the location of inclusions and flaws, the natural coloration, and the original shape of the rough stone are studied extensively. The stone facets are then mapped out and cut in a way that maximizes size, shape, and clarity. For optimal light performance, you will want a diamond that is cut neither too shallow nor too deep.
Color
Diamonds are graded based on the amount of color they do or do not possess. The scale runs from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow). An absolutely colorless diamond is rare and therefore very valuable. At Golden's Designer Jewelry, we generally recommend near colorless (G-J) diamonds because we feel that they give you the best overall value.
Clarity
A diamond is distinguished by its natural characteristics,  these characteristics can be present on the surface (blemishes) or within the stone (inclusions). The clarity is judged by the number and types of these characteristics and is designated using a scale that runs from Fl, defined as flawless, to I3, defined as inclusions visible with the naked eye. A flawless diamond is truly rare.
Carat Weight
The unit of measure used for the weight of a diamond is the carat. As a matter of reference, a carat is equivalent to .2 grams or .007 of an ounce. Carat weight can also be divided further by using points. There are 100 points in one carat. So a 1/4 (.25) carat stone can also be expressed as 25 points and mean exactly the same thing.

Yehuda Clarity Enhanced Diamonds
What are Yehuda diamonds?
They are genuine, natural diamonds that come from a mine just like any other diamond.  They contain natural inclusions that are visible to the naked eye, which substantially reduces their cost and desirability.
The enhancement process?
The Yehuda Company developed a Clarity Enhancement Process that inserts a microscopic amount of material into these diamonds. After the treatment, the "feather" or inclusion, while still present, can no longer be seen by the naked eye. This is because the inserted material has the same optical properties as the diamond.
The enhancement process does not change the diamond in any way.  It is still a natural diamond - it just looks better. The amount of material used to fill the feather is so microscopic that even the world's greatest diamond laboratory, the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) has reported that the process adds ZERO WEIGHT to a diamond.
The treatment is performed on only a small percentage of well-cut stones.
The process is bromine-free and can never be affected by sunlight or ultra-violet light which can cause a treated diamond to darken or turn grey.
The process comes with a lifetime guarantee – if a treatment ever fails, the Yehuda Company will restore it for no charge for life.

Yehuda diamond benefits.
The treated inclusions can no longer be seen with the naked eye.
They are guaranteed to keep their beauty forever, and they are available for 20-30% less than comparable untreated diamonds.
Yehuda Diamonds come with the same lifetime warranty against chipping or breaking that we have on all of our diamonds.

Moissanites

Discover the breathtaking beauty of Moissanite, an incredible gemstone that was born from a star.  Boasting fire, brilliance, and luster that far surpasses even that of a diamond.  Why?, It has a higher refractive Index.
Moissanite twinkles and sparkles unlike any gemstone on earth.  Composed of carbon and silicon the Moissanite crystal is one of the hardest on earth, making it extremely resistant to scratching, chipping and breaking.

Unlike other brilliant stones that cloud and dull with time, Moissanite is guaranteed to never lose its optical properties.  Therefore, it will be every bit as beautiful, fiery and brilliant generations from now as the day your purchase it.  Moissanite gemstones truly are Forever Brilliant.

"I love this stone.  It's beautiful, hard, very tough, easy to set, and repair work done near the stone is no problem. When price matters it fills the need."
